Fix the Sewer, Save the Yard
The old way to replace a sewer line was brutal: rent an excavator, dig a trench the length of your property, rip out the pipe, and then spend weeks — and thousands more — rebuilding the lawn, the mature landscaping, and the driveway you just destroyed. On many Peninsula lots, that collateral damage costs more than the pipe itself.
Trenchless sewer repair changes that. GB Plumbing repairs or replaces your sewer lateral from the inside using two proven no-dig methods — pipe bursting and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining. Instead of a trench, we work through small access points at each end of the line. Your grass, trees, hardscaping, and driveway stay intact. Call (415) 738-1450 to find out if your line is a candidate.
Every trenchless job starts with a camera inspection so we know exactly what we're dealing with before recommending a method. No guesswork, no unnecessary digging, and an honest answer if excavation really is the better call.
"Roots had crushed our clay sewer lateral and two other companies quoted us on digging up the entire front yard — including a 40-year-old Japanese maple. GB lined the pipe trenchless in a single day. The tree is fine, the lawn is untouched, and the sewer works perfectly. I still can't believe there's nothing to repair out front."

Trenchless Methods & When We Use Them
Why Homeowners Choose Trenchless
Your Property Stays Intact
No trench across the yard means no destroyed lawn, no removed trees, and no jackhammered driveway. On Peninsula lots with mature landscaping and hardscaping, the savings on restoration alone often make trenchless the cheaper choice overall.
Faster, Less Disruptive
Most trenchless repairs finish in one to two days rather than the week a full dig-and-replace can take. Less time with your sewer offline, no heavy excavation equipment parked on the street, and a far tidier job site.
A Pipe Built to Last Decades
Both pipe bursting and CIPP lining leave you with a seamless, jointless pipe that resists root intrusion and corrosion. It's a permanent fix engineered to outlast the old clay or Orangeburg line it replaced — commonly rated for 50 years.
"Our Burlingame home had the original clay lateral and it finally cracked under the paver driveway. Digging would have meant tearing out the whole driveway. GB burst in a new pipe through small pits at each end. Two days, driveway untouched, and they showed me the before-and-after camera footage. Fantastic."

Our Trenchless Process
Camera Inspection & Locate
We run a sewer camera through the line to see the exact damage, then locate its depth and path. This tells us whether pipe bursting, CIPP lining, or a targeted dig is the right fix — before any work begins.
Clear & Prepare the Line
We clean out roots, scale, and debris — often with hydro jetting — so the new pipe or liner seats properly. Then we open the small access points needed at each end of the run.
Burst or Line the Pipe
For pipe bursting, we pull a new HDPE pipe through the path of the old one. For CIPP, we install and cure a resin liner that hardens into a new pipe inside the existing line — no seams, no joints for roots to find.
Verify & Restore
We re-run the camera to confirm a clean, full-flow line, backfill the small access pits, and leave your yard and hardscaping essentially as we found them. You get documentation of the finished repair.
Built for Peninsula Homes
Older Burlingame, Hillsborough, and San Mateo neighborhoods are full of original clay laterals surrounded by decades-old landscaping and mature trees whose roots seek out those aging pipe joints. Add pavers, patios, and long driveways, and traditional excavation becomes enormously expensive to restore. Trenchless repair is tailor-made for exactly these lots — fixing the sewer while protecting the trees, hardscaping, and curb appeal that make these homes what they are.
Repair the Sewer Without Destroying the Yard
Pipe bursting and CIPP lining fix your sewer line from the inside — no trench, no ruined landscaping, and a pipe built to last decades. Start with a camera inspection and an honest recommendation.
